It has been a couple of years to remember for Ratae Corieltauvorum they buried one of England’s most notorious monarchs (Well at least that is what Shakespeare would like you to believe – the truth is as always so much more complicated). Then just 6 months ago the football team became the most famous team in the world and the city bathed in reflected glory. (I know many American’s might disagree with that statement but who really knows who the Cubs are? The Foxes on the other hand well…Dilly Ding Dilly Dong as the Roman says) This season has not been so glorious so far but we always live in hope more than expectation and there are still 23 games to go so who knows what will happen. Did some one say Champion’s League?
This morning I approached the city along one of its least picturesque paths, to be far there aren’t that many picturesque ways into the city. This being said the Abbey Meadows reach right into the city centre and provide a wonderful place to see and experience nature. However, in the not too distant future much of whatmakes up the park was an industrial area so what is left is somewhat shabby that wasn’t helped by a typical dull winter’s day . Nonetheless it was great walk.
