Hello Outlook Followers
I’ve been absent from blogging for a while but it seems that this silly little blog is still getting the attention from the Outlook followers. Those of you who might have suffered from such a problem what appears to happen is that strange followers start to pop up with an @Outlook.COM email address. The latest was this morning – straitnfallont@outlook.com – now of course it might be that this is a genuine follower but I somehow doubt it as every other one of these followers I have tried to ID have disappeared as quickly as they have popped up. I have brought this to WordPress’s attention but have had little success in stopping them – this doesn’t fill me with confidence should I wish to start paying for this site – perhaps that is the reason why WordPress has shown an inability to control the outlook.com outbreak – I don’t pay! However a quick search of the WordPress forums shows that this isn’t the case and I am not alone.
Still I guess we should be glad that these spammers or whatever they are are open about their activities unlike Facebook, Google et al

That was the week that was…
Well I think we have survived the worst winter storm in a while…only thing is where I live it was really that much of endurance – thank goodness! The news was full of deep snow drifts, communities cut off and people trapped for hours in their vehicles on motorways. All great and good for the news journalists but that wasn’t my experience of the beast from the east. Instead of apocalypse we had some snow and it was bloody cold but that was it. So for what it is worth here is my photographic record of when the beast visited:

I just hope that is the end of things and we can get on with our small uneventful lives. As I write this the birds are singing outside – a sure sign that spring is well on the way.

Do You Remember?
Combination of 10 minutes to kill and pencil that really could do with sharpening but I couldn’t be arsed to get up do it.
Creative unconformity….

Let the Games Begin…
If it’s Monday then it must be art class. I missed the last one due to a cold and so it was with renewed vigor I attacked today’s sitting. I have to say that now that the paint has set – yes even acrylic improves after a few hours I am quite pleased with the result. (The above photo doesn’t really do it justice – is that a good sign? I doubt it!)
I was going to write a piece on the Hunger Games that the USA education system seems to have become but what is the point? Clearly the politicians are happy that a proportion of children who attend school won’t be coming home in the evening. Actually it is a bit of a cop out just to blame the political class because the same must be said of the whole of the population. This is harsh I know but what other conclusion can anyone come to when there has been 20 deaths and 40 injured this year due to the discharge of firearms. That is seven firearms incidents. Or to put it another way that is more than one death every 2 days since the start of the current semester. How this is even close to being acceptable I cannot understand but clearly it is. Let the games begin.
Perhaps I did write something after all.
