I think I’m a bit of a ink spot

No I’ve not taken a Rorschach test – rather I’m making images using ink or ink substitute. Yesterday I sat done and made a sketch on brushes of the actress Eva Mendez using a brush that resembles an ink pen. This morning I made this sketch of Sherlock using a pen and maker pens. Perhaps this is the way forward for me or perhaps I should just enjoy sketching and leave the deeper analysis to the likes of Rorschach…now there is a thought – the Watchman character is a perfect subject for a pen drawing.

Just when you think you have an idea where you are you realise you’re nowhere

My latest fade is Pinterest and I have to say I could spend hours following my interests. However, after spending an hour or so exploring the extraordinary works and pinning some outstanding work I’ve come to the conclusion I’m nowhere. Of course this is an over reaction but it is, nonetheless rather humbling to realise there are so many talented people out there. However on a more positive note it does inspire me to continue working at what I do. Perhaps one day I might not feel so…one day.

Pierre Paul Marchini

Every now and then this whole social media nonsense seems to deliver something interesting (I’m overblowing). Anyway, yesterday a new follower joined me on Twitter (@SimonMarchini if you want to follow me – I think – never quite sure) and turns out he is another Marchini artist. Although I suspect he is more professional than I am ( I just produce my art because I want to without any intention of selling the final result of my work.

So, because my school boy French is none existent I have brushed this through Google translate:

The other night one of my favourite movies, Roxanne, was on one of the movie channels. I know it is a bit of fluff but nonetheless I think it is actually one of the best movies that Steve Martin has made – the best in my opinion being Bowfinger. Anyway, this morning I just got the urge to sketch Daryl Hannah for no known reason. Perhaps the next the sketch should be Steve Martin…perhaps.

Different iterations

Still messing about with free phot apps on the iPhone/iPad. This little beauty was created using the following apps:

KitCam, Lens Light & Wordfoto on the iPhone and
Brushes & Photoshop Express on the iPad.

I really have no idea what this all means but I think the final result is QI.
