The Stench of Decay…

Is it me or is there really there the smell of rot and decay hanging over our current ruling elite? They really are well past their sell by date and should be thrown out. Yet there they sit slowly poisoning everything and everybody they touch. I actually think that Rishi Sunak is a decent person (I just don’t agree with his policies) but his standing is being corrupted by the people around him. Now you could feel sorry for him but don’t – he appointed them. The sooner they are gone the better.

Here endeth the political moan.

But is there an alternative bunch of politicians who are fired up and determined to implement their principled policies?

Or are they another branch of essentially the same elite whose stench has moderated somewhat as they rest on the side lines ‘ready’ for the second half? Will they be any better?

My own somewhat cynical take is that Members of Parliament (of any stripe) have become PR hacks for the Civil Service/Establishment. Voting merely endorses one PR team over another. Political leaders who might actually lead are soon given the bums rush – you could argue that Boris Johnson or Jeremy Corbyn captured the attention of the voters too well and that ‘safe’ hands (Theresa May Sir Kier Starmer) were elevated beyond their competence.
