I’m really not sure why I made this quick sketch other than the ancient greeks are flavour of the month at the moment with the BBC.  This is because the British Museum has a major exhibition about how the ancient Greeks saw beauty and how this has completely infected western art.  It would be nice to think that were true but I just have a sneaking feeling it might also be because I watch a totally outrageous film the other day with the Rock as Hercules.  High art?   I think not but it was packed full with British thesps over acting in what looked like great fun.  Total nonsense I know but why should movies be always about deep philosophical matters rather than grown men shouting and fighting each other in more and more outlandish ways?
