| Oh you just have to love Apple, that reality distorting company where every things is great and just the best where….well you get the picture. Yesterday I posted a quick note saying that the BBC weather app was wonderful and excellent and you should all down load at once. Well last night, it being a Friday, found me in the beer garden of a local hostelry showing my friends the wonders of the new app when low and behold I found, according to the app, I wasn’t in Whetsone but in Ketteringham. Now the weather looked really nice in Ketteringham but as I’ve blogged before it is around 70 miles further east from Whestone. Perhaps this is the “reality distortion field” that Apple are famous for at work. Perhaps I was in fact in west Norfolk rather than just south of Leicester…Perhaps. Or maybe Apple maps are still screwed up 12 months after they launched.
I know this is a little thing but when so many of the apps we now use want to “Use your Location” to help plug their services, adverts, to you it might help if they got the right location. Or perhaps not, perhaps it might quite good fun to see what services are available to someone 70 miles from where they actually are. Perhaps. Perhaps. Perhaps. Simon Marchini |

I have exactly the same problem – where the hell is Ketteringham? and why does the BBC weather app think I;m there when I’m in whetstone Leics ?
Ketteringham is in Norfolk and the BBC Weather app isn’t responsible for this but rather the default map app your phone uses and as I suspect you have an iPhone then it uses Apple Maps which still thinks that Whetstone is actually Ketteringham!
