Yesterday I visited Oxford or to be more precise Broad Street. It was a wonderful coldish spring day and the place had the buzz of a town full of energy: The sort of energy that young people give off that we old farts can only envy and wish we could once more feel; a buzz of the possible before the years of heartache and disappointment drains it away.

But such is life and may the young enjoy their few brief years of relative freedom. I wish them well whichever way life takes them. This being Oxford it is more likely to be towards the top rather than the bottom of society but it was ever thus.
