On the final day of my latest cultural tour of Britain we stopped off at Bristol. This was a first for me as I had never properly visited the city before. I had passed through the city when I was young and had had a business meeting on the outskirts the city itself was a mystery.
One of the shops I visited was a music store that could almost have been out of the movie High Fidelity. This is the first time I have been in such a store for a very long time. To add to the whole retro feel the chap behind the counter, perhaps the John Cusack character in the movie, started to play Burlesque by Family, a local band who I really liked in the 1970’s. However, to prove this wasn’t the 70’s I noticed that now vinyl is sold by the GSM, much as quality of paper is.
