Surfing USA it isn’t but the surfers at Newgale don’t seem to care. There is steady drizzle and sky is light, dishwater, grey but that doesn’t seem to stop them. They all look like stick men and women as they try and find the perfect wave. Usually they fail and fall off their boards but that won’t stop these entrepid people. Standing on the beach watching the surfers I wondered what L.S. Lowry would have made of it all. The people are already matchstick men without so he may well have had to use some other technique. Or perhaps would just have painted the surfers with cloggs?
